Introduction

The new, high density CM-SR40, CM-SR24 and the CM-SR64 are the first in a series of Cadac's CM stage racks, featuring the same exceptional, high performance I/O cards as the CM console. There are two 4U units, the CM-SR40 with 32 analogue inputs and 8 analogue outputs, and the CM-SR24 with 16 analogue inputs and 24 analogue outputs. The 7U CM-SR64 is configured with 56 analogue inputs and 32 analogue outputs. All three have 8 AES3 inputs and 8 AES3 outputs on a total of 8 XLRs.

They all feature a 2.4” colour TFT, which displays the menu structure allowing local adjustment of the incoming levels, mic gain and phantom power settings. The integrated headphone amp adds the useful and time saving ability of monitoring the audio at the stage rack.

The CM-SR Series feature dual MegaCOMMS ports on BNC, or LC optical ports for redundant connection of up to 2 km from the console, and come preconfigured with dual redundant internal PSUs for mission critical applications. All packaged within a robust, lightweight, compact aluminium chassis.

Hear the Difference

Cadac's stage racks feature, what is considered by many audio professionals,

the industry's finest sounding mic pre.

CM-SR: Features

ANALOGUE INPUTS

Cadac CM-SR remote audio stage racks up to 56 analogue inputs
  • Pre-configured with 16 to 56 fully programmable, low-noise, wide dynamic-range mic preamps on XLRs.

  • Identical to the console's local I/O - 96 kHz, 24-bit Delta-Sigma A/D and D/A converters - ensuring consistent audio performance throughout the entire system.

  • Gain control either remotely and locally.

  • 48 V phantom power available on all inputs.

ANALOGUE OUTPUTS

Cadac CM-SR series remote audio stage rack up to 32 analogue outputs
  • Pre-configured with 8 to 32 balanced line outputs on XLRs.

  • The stage racks have identical characteristics to the consoles local outputs.

  • Any output channel, insert send or direct out may be routed to the outputs.

  • Each output can be "hard" muted, complete with LED indication.

AES3 INPUTS / OUTPUTS

  • Four female XLR sockets provide eight AES3 format digital inputs.

  • The input pairs are fitted with Sample Rate Converters (SRCs) and will accept sample rates between 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz.

  • Four male XLR connectors provide eight AES3 format digital outputs from the console.

  • Clock options for the output pairs include: External, Internal and Input Port

2.4" MENU SCREEN

  • The 2.4-inch colour display shows the stage rack's intuitive menu structure.

  • Menu navigation is done via the two select buttons and a rotatory / push  encoder.

  • The menu provides access to the analogue port, gain, 48 V, Pad, Mute.

  • The screen provides control of the AES Port Pair, Direction, Clock, Rate, Channel.

  • Headphone amp allows local monitoring of an input or output.

MegaCOMMS

Cadac CM-SR series remote audio stage rack MegaCOMMS ports - BNC and optical
  • Each stage rack has four pairs of MegaCOMMS ports - 2 pairs on BNCs and 2 duplex optical LC ports - carrying all audio and control data between the control surface and the stage racks.

  • Each pair of ports is capable of transmitting 128 bi-directional channels of 96 kHz / 24-bit audio.

  • Two MegaCOMMS paths, A and B (either over RG6 or optical), carry identical and synchronous data, and provides redundancy if both A and B are attached to a single stage rack.

  • The duplex LC ports allow connection of the stage racks up to 2000 m from the control surface via singlemode fibre.

DUAL INTERNAL PSUs

Cadac CM-SR24 remote audio stage rack dual PSUs
  • All units feature internal, dual redundant, auto switching power supplies for mission critical applications.

  • The stage racks are fitted with two low noise fans for noise sensitive installation.

  • All housed it a road rugged, yet light and compact, aluminium chassis.
